FAOOctober 2013: Initiating preparations for the second report on the ‘State of the World’s Animal Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture,’ scheduled for publication in 2015, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) has circulated an electronic questionnaire to be used by countries in drafting their country reports.

Preparation of the country reports, which will form the basis of this second publication, will be organized by national coordinators for the management of animal genetic resources. In addition, FAO has circulated a questionnaire encouraging countries to prepare a report on their legal and policy frameworks affecting the management of animal genetic resources, an area that is excluded from the country reports, to assist with an analysis by FAO in that regard.
