European Commission Launches CCS Project Network
story highlights

EU tool supports early large-scale demonstration of CCS technologies.

17 September 2010: The European Commission has completed the launch of the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Project Network, the EU tool that supports early large-scale demonstration of CCS technologies.

All CCS projects supported by the European Commission’s European Energy Programme for Recovery are the first members to have signed a joint agreement to share knowledge through the Network. As a condition for receiving EU funding, each beneficiary is required to disseminate the project results as widely as possible. An annual Advisory Forum has been established to review progress and specify the knowledge that can most usefully be generated by the CCS Project Network activities. Its first meeting was held in Brussels, Belgium, on 17 September 2010. [EU Press Release] [CCS Project Network Website]
