20 August 2008: The EU and China discussions on combating
climate change, conducted on 18 August 2008, in Paris, France, formed part of a
bilateral consultation mechanism under the EU-China Partnership on Climate
Change launched in 2005.
During the meeting, the two delegations presented
their latest policy developments on combating climate change and discussed
their cooperation in the face of this challenge ahead of the next EU-China
Summit, which will take place in Lyon, France, on 1 December 2008. They also
reviewed progress in international negotiations. [EU press release]
