EC Holds Public Consultations on Green Goods Trade

The European Commission (EC) is holding a public consultation on an upcoming trade agreement for environmental (green) goods and services.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in January 2014, the EU and 13 other World Trade Organization (WTO) members pledged to launch negotiations to liberalize global trade in environmental goods.

European Union 12 June 2014: The European Commission (EC) is holding a public consultation on an upcoming trade agreement for environmental (green) goods and services. At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in January 2014, the EU and 13 other World Trade Organization (WTO) members pledged to launch negotiations to liberalize global trade in environmental goods.

The public consultation will run until the end of July 2014, at which times negotiations are scheduled to begin, among: Australia, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Chinese Taipei, the EU, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, Singapore and the US.
