EBRD Provides Long-term Funding to RusHydro

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has committed to provide a 10-year loan of €192 million to fund RusHydro, the world's second-largest hydropower generator, in Russia's Far East region to increase its energy efficiency and other objectives.

8 December 2011: The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has committed to provide a 10-year loan of €192 million to fund RusHydro, the world’s second-largest hydropower generator, in Russia’s Far East region.

The project aims to improve productivity by bringing operating performance up to the highest Russian and international standards, including in terms of energy efficiency and power loss reduction.[EBRD press release]
