6 November 2008: Documents for the 34th Global Environment Facility (GEF) Council meeting,
which will convene from 11-13 November 2008, in Washington DC, US, are
available online.

The agenda for the meeting includes an offer by Uruguay to
host the Fourth GEF Assembly to be convened in the first half of 2010. Among
other issues, Council Members will review a progress report on the GEF Fourth
Overall Performance Study and the Mid-term review of the Resource Allocation Framework
(RAF), as well as a Strategic Program to Scale up the Level of Investment in
the Transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies.
The GEF Council Meeting will be preceded by an
NGO consultation on Monday 10 November. A meeting of the Least Developed
Countries Fund (LDCF) and Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF) Council will be
held on 13 November, and will review a results-management framework proposed
for the LDCF and SCCF, with a view to agreeing on an approach to monitor
