© CN NET1 April 2009: On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Climate Neutral Network (CN Net) of the UN Environment Program (UNEP), DHL Express sent its first carbon neutral express shipments from Africa. The shipments from Nairobi, Kenya, included trophies that were delivered to the 86 cities, associations and companies around the world that currently form UNEP’s CN Net.

CN Net was established to assist those interested in achieving significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions to reach their goals, by making public the plans and strategies that partners have drawn up in order to achieve climate neutrality and encouraging them to publicize their achievements and challenges, via regular up-dates of the web pages. The long-term aim of CN Net is to address the reduction of all greenhouse gases, including the six that fall under the Kyoto Protocol, and others covered by treaties such as the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer.
