January 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has extended the deadline by which vendors interested in administering a loan scheme over a five-year period in respect of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) are requested to submit a written expression of interest.

The Secretariat intends to contract an experienced public or private institution to administer the loan scheme, aimed at providing loans to countries with fewer than ten registered CDM project activities, to help them cover some of the costs of registering a CDM project. The expression of interest is required to include a description of the institution’s profile and details of relevant experience in the services required. Vendors who intend to respond to this request but have not yet submitted a Vendor Registration Form to the UNFCCC are also requested to complete the Form, which can be accessed online on the UNFCCC website.

The request for expressions of interest does not constitute an invitation to bid or to submit proposals. After the closing date of the request for expressions of interest, vendors will be shortlisted for the UNFCCC solicitation documents and a request for proposals will be issued to the shortlisted vendors. The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest has been extended to 15 February 2011. [UNFCCC Information Note]
