Co-Facilitators Circulate Draft Decision on Modalities for Refugee and Migrant HLM

The co-facilitators of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) high-level meeting to address large movement of refugees and migrants, which will take place on 19 September 2016, have circulated a draft Decision on its organizational modalities.

Co-facilitators Dina Kawar, Permanent Representative of Jordan, and David Donoghue, Permanent Representative of Ireland, prepared the draft based on views expressed by Member States during informal meetings on 2 and 18 March 2016.

UNGA 2nd Committee - Economic and Financial1 April 2016: The co-facilitators of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) high-level meeting to address large movement of refugees and migrants, which will take place on 19 September 2016, have circulated a draft Decision on its organizational modalities. Co-facilitators Dina Kawar, Permanent Representative of Jordan, and David Donoghue, Permanent Representative of Ireland, prepared the draft based on views expressed by Member States during informal meetings on 2 and 18 March 2016.

The draft Decision outlines: the structure of the meeting; the level of participation for Member States; the rules of procedure for participation of other stakeholders; a one-day multi-stakeholder hearing; consultations on the outcome document; and suggested themes for the envisaged roundtables.
