January 2013: The Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) announced a new logo to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Convention.
CITES was signed in Washington, D.C. on 3 March 1973. The Secretariat highlighted that the logo will be officially presented on 3 March 2013 on the 40th anniversary of the Convention. The anniversary will coincide with the opening of the 16th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP16) to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 3-14 March 2013. [CITES News]
