CITES Parties Requested to Submit Information on Asian Big Cats

Information from CITES Parties regarding conservation and trade control measures on tigers and other Appendix-I Asian big cat species will enable the Secretariat to prepare for the 61st meeting of the CITES Standing Committee in August 2011.

10 February 2011: In preparation for the 61st meeting of the Standing Committee of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), the CITES Secretariat has requested Parties to submit information regarding conservation and trade control measures on tigers and other Appendix-I Asian big cat species.

The topic will be on the agenda of the 61st meeting of the Standing Committee, to be held from 15-19 August 2011, in Geneva, Switzerland. To enable the Secretariat to prepare its report for the Committee, tiger and Asian big cat range States and other countries with relevant information are requested to submit such information to the Secretariat by 29 April 2011.
