CIF Calls for NGOs, Indigenous Peoples and Private Sector to Participate in Partnership Forum 2011

The CIF Administrative Unit will be funding a number of stakeholder representatives from developing countries at the upcoming at the CIF Partnership Forum 2011, through a self-selection process.

February 2011: The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) Administrative Unit is encouraging the participation of NGOs, Indigenous Peoples and private sector “Active Observers” at the CIF Partnership Forum 2011, which is scheduled to take place from 17-18 March 2011, in Tunis, Tunisia.

The CIF Administrative Unit will be funding a number of stakeholder representatives from developing countries through a process to be facilitated by the Stakeholder Forum for a Sustainable Future. The self-selection process will be coordinated by the Stakeholder Forum with an Advisory Group for NGOs and Indigenous Peoples, and a separate Advisory Group for the Private Sector. Criteria for the selection of representatives for each of these groups will be based on regional and gender balance, and knowledge of and experience with CIF programme areas. Prospective representatives are requested to apply at the Stakeholder Forum website by 14 February 2011. The CIF Partnership Forum 2011 will also give stakeholders the opportunity review the self-selection process and the effectiveness of stakeholder engagement with the CIF.
