CGRFA Invites Comments on Concept Note for State of the World’s Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture

The concept note aims to facilitate discussion on the key issues and content of the report, which will provide the first global synthetic assessment of the status and trends of genetic resources and their contributions to food and agriculture.

Comments on the concept note are invited until 15 November 2011.

September 2011: The Secretariat of the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (CGRFA) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) has invited comments on the concept note of the first-ever report on The State of the World’s Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture.

The purpose of the concept note is to facilitate discussion on the key issues and content of the report, as well as the preparatory process. The report will provide the first global synthetic assessment of the status and trends of genetic resources and their contributions to food and agriculture, as well as an overview of institutional and technical capacities to manage biodiversity for food and agriculture. It is expected to be presented at the CGRFA’s 16th regular session in 2016-2017. Comments should be sent to cgrfa@fao.org by 15 November 2011. [Concept Note]
