The Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security (CCAFS) program of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) has released a series of freely available articles in the journal Environmental Research Letters to improve the understanding of emissions from the agriculture sector.
12 February 2013: The Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security (CCAFS) program of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) has released a series of freely available articles in the journal Environmental Research Letters to improve the understanding of emissions from the agriculture sector.
The application of these articles will help countries to report on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at local, national and international levels, as well as to participate in climate financing incentive mechanisms. The articles focus on improving field measurements for soil carbon; investing in agricultural adaptation; improving agricultural GHG data systems; and applying low-cost GHG quantification methods.
The issue of Environmental Research Letters was sponsored by CCAFS, Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, with support from the Packard Foundation and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN.
