The A/R Working Group held its 25th meeting from 21-23 September 2009, at UNFCCC headquarters in Bonn, Germany. The report of that meeting outlines the Working Group’s consideration of: proposed new A/R methodologies; requests for clarification on and revisions of approved methodologies; draft guidance on conditions under which greenhouse gas emissions from removal of existing vegetation due to site preparation are insignificant; draft revision of the tool for estimating greenhouse gas emissions from clearing, burning and decay of existing vegetation due to implementation of a CDM A/R project; draft revision of guidelines on conservative choice of default data for estimation of biomass stocks and change in woody vegetation; and options for definition of forest in exhaustion. The Working Group agreed to hold its 26th meeting from 28-30 October 2009.
The 22nd meeting of the SSC WG convened from 21-24 September 2009 to consider matters relating to small-scale CDM project activities. At the meeting, the Working Group considered and made recommendations on requests for revisions to, or clarifications of, approved small-scale methodologies as well as requests for the creation of new methodologies. On proposed new methodologies, the SSC WG agreed to recommend three of the methodologies and a revision of the fourth methodology. In addition, the Working Group discussed issues of general guidance, and also agreed to schedule its 23rd meeting from 27–30 October 2009. [SSC WG report] [A/R WG report]
