CDM Executive Board Launches Calls for Public Input

The CDM Executive Board calls for public inputs on three draft tools on baseline identification, baseline emission calculation and the determination of the most attractive alternative of a CDM project component, as well as on draft revised guidelines on the assessment of investment analysis.

1 December 2010: As agreed at its 58th meeting, the Executive Board of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) has launched two calls for public inputs.

The first call is for public inputs on the three draft tools for: baseline identification; baseline emission calculation; and the determination of the most attractive alternative of a CDM project component. The call is open from 1 December 2010 – 12 January 2011, and the inputs received, as well as the draft tools, will serve as discussion documents for a workshop to be organized by the Secretariat, which will involve CDM stakeholders and members of the CDM Methodologies Panel. The outcome of the workshop will be considered by the Methodologies Panel for a final recommendation to the Executive Board.

The second call is for public inputs on the draft revised “Guidelines on the assessment of investment analysis.” The call is open from 1 December 2010 – 12 January 2011, and comments are sought from CDM stakeholders, particularly from financial experts working for developing country local and regional development banks and financial institutions engaged in project financing. The inputs received from the call will serve as discussion document for a workshop to be organized by the Secretariat, and the outcome of the workshop will be considered by the Secretariat for a final recommendation to the Executive Board.
