CCAFS9 January 2014: The International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) has developed a field manual in Spanish to document a range of adaptation and mitigation activities in Rio Las Piedras within Cauca, Colombia.

The manual uses a set of images to describe nineteen agricultural practices for mitigation and adaptation for researchers, extension agents and farmers. The activities include those already being implemented by farmers in the region, while others have been identified as suitable or beneficial to agricultural production. CIAT performed the work through the Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security Program (CCAFS) of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).

The program is part of a gender-sensitive research project in Colombia. [CIAT Publication (in Spanish): Manual of the Measures of Climate Change in Adaptation Practiced by the Campesinos of Asocampo in Rio Las Piedras Wastershed of Cauca, Colombia] [CCAFS Release] [CCAFS Blog Post]
