CBD Secretariat Invites European Nominations for NBSAPs Workshop

European parties may nominate a representative to participate in the regional workshop on National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs), which aims to strengthen national capacities for the development, implementation, review, updating and communication of NBSAPs.

21 January 2011: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has invited European parties to nominate a representative to participate in the regional workshop on national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs) for European countries.

The workshop for the updating and revision of NBSAPs for European countries will be held from 15-19 April 2011, on the Isle of Vilm, Germany. Its purpose is to: strengthen national capacities for the development, implementation, review, updating and communication of NBSAPs; facilitate national implementation of the Strategic Plan 2011-2020; and translate the Strategic Plan into national targets and commitments.

The workshop is organized by the CBD Secretariat in collaboration with the International Academy for Nature Conservation on the Isle of Vilm, a division of the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN). Nominations should be submitted by 1 March 2011. [The Notification]
