CBD Secretariat Initiates Preparations for SBSTTA-15, Article 8(j) Meeting

The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has opened the online registration system and the side events registration system for the seventh meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Article 8(j) and Related Provisions, as well as the 15th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA-15).

28 July 2011: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has opened the online registration system and the side events registration system for the seventh meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Article 8(j) and Related Provisions and the 15th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA-15).

The meetings will be held from 31 October-4 November 2011, and 7-11 November 2011, respectively, in Montreal, Canada.

The Secretariat also announced that the SBSTTA-15 poster session theme is “Contribution of ecosystem restoration to the objectives of the CBD and a healthy planet for all people.” Submissions are invited by 30 August 2011 regarding best practices on how ecosystem restoration contributes to the three objectives of the CBD and to human wellbeing.
