The Secretariat of the Convention Biological Diversity (CBD) has facilitated a meeting, held from 8-10 July 2009, in Montreal, Canada, on South-South Cooperation and sustainable forest management with a focus on forest biodiversity, between the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization, the Association of South-East Asian Nations and the Central Africa Forests Commission.

The purpose of the meeting was to share knowledge, strategies and experiences in order to promote mutual learning on forest policy coordination and cooperation, and to improve the impact of regional organizations.
