CBD Circulates Questionnaire on Capacity Building for ABS Protocol Implementation

The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has circulated the final versions of questionnaires to facilitate the submission of views and information on: domestic needs and priorities for capacity building and development in support of the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol; and proposed elements of a strategic framework for capacity building and development.

CBD6 October 2011: In preparation for the second meeting of the Open-ended Ad Hoc Intergovernmental Committee for the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS), the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has circulated questionnaires on: domestic needs and priorities for capacity building and development in support of the implementation of the Protocol; and proposed elements of a strategic framework for capacity building and development under the Protocol.

The second meeting of the Committee will take place in April 2012, in Delhi, India. Parties, other governments, international organizations, indigenous and local communities (ILCs) and relevant stakeholders are invited to fill out both questionnaires no later than 15 November 2011.
