CBD Calls for Views on Ways to Integrate Biodiversity Considerations in Climate-Change Related Activities

21 August 2008: In accordance with COP Decision IX/16, the
Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has issued a
notification to request Parties to submit views on ways to integrate
biodiversity considerations into climate-change related activities by 1 October
2008.

These views will also serve to provide relevant input into the Ad Hoc
Technical Expert Group on biodiversity and climate change. Parties are
requested to make use of a specific template attached to the notification and
to consider all three CBD objectives: biodiversity conservation, sustainable
use, and fair and equitable benefit-sharing. [The
