CBD Calls for Views on Integration of Biodiversity into Climate-Change-Related Activities

The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has invited CBD parties to submit views and case studies on the integration of biodiversity into climate-change-related activities, to be compiled for submission to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Submissions are invited by 1 December 2011, on the basis of a template provided by the CBD Secretariat.

CBD25 October 2011: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has invited CBD parties to submit views and case studies on the integration of biodiversity into climate-change-related activities, to be compiled for submission to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) through reporting on the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change (NWP), and other relevant means.

These views and case studies will supplement those already received by parties and considered by the 14th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA). The Secretariat has further reviewed views and case studies reported by parties in their fourth national reports to the CBD, second, third and fourth national communications to the UNFCCC, and national adaptation plans of action.
