The regional capacity-building workshop on the guidelines on best available techniques (BAT) and provisional guidance on best environmental practices (BEP), organized by the Stockholm Convention Secretariat, convened in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 2-4 February 2009.

The workshop raised regional awareness on BAT and BEP, and provided the opportunity for officials of the region to share experiences regarding the implementation of Article 5 under the Convention (unintentional production of POPs) specifically in using the Stockholm Convention Guidelines on BAT and BEP.
