4 April 2013: The World Bank’s Connect4Climate (C4) initiative and Alcantara, a private company, held the “Alcantara Dialogues – Connect4Climate: Re-think, Re-Design, Re-new,” at the Temporary Museum for New Design, in Milan, Italy, during Milan Design Week on 9-14 April 2013.

The series of high-profile dialogues concentrated on the relevance of the private sector in commitment to sustainability, and highlighted Alcantara’s exclusive use of renewable energy and its status as a carbon-neutral company. The main sessions discussed: design and sustainability; sustainable fashion; corporate and social responsibility and global advocacy; and entertainment and the arts for sustainability.

This partnership is an effort to stimulate dialogue on “unusual public/private partnerships.” [C4C/GEF Press Release] [Event Video]
