The Government of Brazil has announced that the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio 2012) will take place from 4-6 June 2012, and the third PrepCom for UNCSD will take place from 28-30 May 2012.
8 March 2011: The Government of Brazil has announced that the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio 2012) will take place from 4-6 June 2012, and the third PrepCom for UNCSD will take place from 28-30 May 2012.
The announcement was made at the second UNCSD PrepCom, taking place from 7-8 March 2011, in New York, US. At a special briefing on preparations, representatives from Brazil discussed preparations for the event, which they said will take place in the Warehouses of the Port Area, which was the site of World Urban Forum 5. An additional venue for civil society organzation (CSO) activities will be located at Aterro do Flamengo, with buses running between the official and CSO venues.
