30 May 2012: Stakeholder Forum has announced the publication of a book titled “Only One Earth: The Long Road via Rio to Sustainable Development,” examining the role of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) in achieving sustainable development.

The book is authored by Stakeholder Forum’s Executive Director, Felix Dodds, Earthmedia’s Michael Straus, and former UN Under-Secretary-General Maurice F. Strong. It examines developments since the 1972 UN Conference on the Human Environment (UNCHE) and assesses what needs to happen at Rio+20 and over the next 20 years in order for democracy, equity and fairness to survive.

Highlighting the planetary boundaries everyone must live within, the book outlines “absolute minimum” policy changes that need to be made for the world to shift to a more sustainable development path. [Publication: Only One Earth: The Long Road via Rio to Sustainable Development]
