Bioversity International has announced the appointment of Ann Tutwiler as the incoming Director General.

At Bioversity International, Tutwiler will be responsible for forging research partnerships and overseeing the organization's strategic priorities and research agenda.

21 February 2013: Bioversity International has announced the appointment of Ann Tutwiler as the incoming Director General.

Tutwiler is currently the Special Representative of the Director-General to the UN/Geneva and World Economic Forum of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO). She has worked for almost 30 years in agricultural policy and development in the public and private sectors. Tutwiler has held leadership positions at the FAO, US Agency for International Development, US Department of Agriculture and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.

At Bioversity International, Tutwiler will be responsible for forging research partnerships and overseeing the organization’s strategic priorities and research agenda. Tutwiler succeeds Emile Frison who has led the organization since 2003. Bioversity International is a member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).
