Bioversity Brochure Highlights Contributions to Aichi Targets

Bioversity International has released a brochure on its contributions to the achievement of the Aichi Biodiversity Targets.

The brochure highlights partnerships with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Bioversity InternationalOctober 2014: Bioversity International has released a brochure on its contributions to the achievement of the Aichi Biodiversity Targets. The brochure highlights partnerships with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), and the World Health Organization (WHO).

The brochure features projects such as the State of the Knowledge review on the links between health and biodiversity, the Biodiversity Food and Nutrition Initiative to gather nutritional data on 140 species, and the Bridging Agriculture and Conservation Initiative to develop innovative policy and management options for the conservation of biodiversity in agricultural landscapes.

The brochure also reports on the sustainable management of agricultural areas in biosphere reserves in Cuba, a study on the contribution of genetic resources to restoration efforts, and facilitation of the participation of indigenous peoples in agricultural biodiversity discussions and decision-making.
