4 July 2009: The Group of Experts on Biodiversity and Climate Change established under the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats (Berne Convention) met from 2-3 July 2009, in Strasbourg, France.

The meeting’s agenda included: an update on developments on biodiversity and climate change in other fora; an update on national activities and initiatives of relevance; presentations on climate change work at the Council of Europe; discussion on the impacts of climate change on plant species and invertebrates in Europe, and on protected areas and climate change; and adoption of a recommendation on further guidance for parties on biodiversity and climate change.
