AU Calls for Articles for ECOLOGUE Journal

The African Union (AU) is launching a new policy journal, ECOLOGUE, to be showcased at the Africa Pavilion at the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Articles are invited on a number of thematic areas, including: climate-related insecurity and conflicts; African countries and carbon markets; REDD+ perspectives; land tenure in Africa; and desertification.

African Union (AU)1 August 2011: In preparation for the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the African Union (AU) is launching a new policy journal, ECOLOGUE, with a focus on climate change issues.

The publication, which is to be showcased at COP 17’s Africa Pavilion, aims to capitalize on the platform COP 17 provides for highlighting initiatives, projects and activities for adaptation and mitigation of climate change in Africa.

The AU has invited authors to submit papers that address climate change and its implications for Africa, covering a number of thematic areas including: climate-related insecurity and conflicts; African countries and carbon markets; perspectives on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, as well as conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of carbon stock (REDD+); land tenure in Africa; and desertification.
