Over 500 people, including high-level forestry officials, attended the Asia-Pacific Forestry Week held in Hanoi, Viet Nam, from 21-26 April 2008, to share perspectives and seek solutions to the most challenging issues facing forests and forestry today.

Anchored around the 22nd session of the Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission, one of the six regional forestry commissions supported by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, this meeting included special sessions on forests and poverty, forests and climate change, trade, timber certification, forest law enforcement and governance, and forestry investment.
