Additional Parties Join CMS Sharks and Raptors MOUs

Belgium, Denmark, the EU, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Romania and Monaco have joined the MoU on the Conservation of Migratory Birds of Prey in Africa and Eurasia, bringing its total signatories to 38.

Belgium, Denmark, the EU, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania and Monaco joined the MoU on the Conservation of Migratory Sharks, bringing that agreement's total signatories to 24.

22 December 2011: The Secretariat of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) has announced that several new parties have joined the Memoranda of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Sharks (Sharks MoU) and on the Conservation of Migratory Birds of Prey in Africa and Eurasia (Raptors MoU).

The Secretariat reported that Belgium, Denmark, the EU, Germany, Ghana, Italy and Romania joined the Raptors MoU on 21 November 2011. Monaco joined on 25 November 2011, bringing the the total number of signatories to 38. In addition, on 16 December 2011, the International Association for Falconry and Conservation of Birds of Prey signed the MoU as a Co-operating Partner Organization.

The Secretariat also announced that Belgium, Denmark, the EU, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Romania joined the Sharks MoU on 21 November 2011, followed by Monaco on 25 November 2011.
