story highlights

"Waves," the ADBs Water For All newsletter, focuses this month on pilot projects in China, urban water management, and green growth.

It highlights a partnership between Asian leaders and the Netherlands, which evolves out of UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) outcome.

ADB3 September 2012: The September 2012 edition of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Water For All newsletter “Waves” highlights a partnership between Asian leaders and the Netherlands. The partnership, evolving out of UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) outcome, will commence with a knowledge sharing dialogue on “Making Smart Choices for Water Security and Green Growth.”

The newsletter also presents pilot projects, water news, new publications and upcoming events. It describes “Good Practices in Urban Water Management,” published in July 2012, which demonstrates that if water utility reforms and water leakages were addressed million more people in Asia and the Pacific could have access to water.

The newsletter also presents Chinese pilot projects including scoping the water-energy-pollution nexus in Urumqi and Qingdao, and assessing the feasibility of nutrient trading between point and nonpoint sources of pollution in the Lake Chao basin.
