ADB Energy for All Announces New Partner ONergy

ONergy has joined the ADB's Energy for All Partnership.

Onergy is a renewable energy enterprise that has installed over 10,000 solar systems since inception and aims to provide solar energy to 1 million people by 2016.

10 April 2012: The Asian Development Bank’s Energy for All initiative has announced that Punam Energy Pvt Ltd (ONergy), an Indian renewable energy enterprise aiming to provide solar energy to 1 million people by 2016, has joined the Energy for All Partnership.

According to Energy for All, ONergy has won various awards for its efforts, which include providing sustainable energy solutions and services to under-served households and businesses. ONergy provides packages of products, services and consumer financing through Grameen banks, cooperative societies, commercial banks and micro-finance institutions. These are distributed via Renewable Energy Centres and a network of trained rural entrepreneurs. Currently ONergy employs 20 people and has installed over 10,000 solar systems since inception. As part of the Energy for All partnership Onergy is expected to share lessons learned and participate in ADB initiated projects. [Energy For All Press Release]
