20 August 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has launched the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) International Photo and Video Contest 2010, on the theme “CDM Changing Lives.”

The contest is aimed at raising awareness of the CDM to help the world learn about its value. It invites photos and videos that tell an interesting CDM story or that showcase CDM projects or their related benefits. The contest is open to any photographer or digital video producer, amateur and professional, but entries must be associated with a registered CDM project. The winning works will be displayed at the UNFCCC Climate Change Conference in Cancun, Mexico, at the end of 2010 and on the UNFCCC website. Submitted photos could also feature prominently in important print and promotional material, as well as on the UNFCCC website. The deadline for submissions is 20 October 2010. [Contest Announcement]
