TakingITGlobal is organizing a series of environmental forums through its “Tread Lightly” programme. The forums aim to provide youth, educators and NGOs an opportunity to discuss pressing issues, formulate recommendations for the agenda of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) and learn how they can reduce their own ecological footprints, in order to strengthen local environmental movements. Input to the forums will be gathered and submitted to the zero draft of the Rio+20 text. Five forums will be held, on: 4 October 2011, in Oslo, Norway; 5 October 2011, in London, UK; 13 October 2011, in Milan, Italy; 18 October 2011, in Paris, France; and 21 October 2011, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
