Organized under the theme 'Shaping the Future of Natural Resources,' the World Resources Forum (WRF) 2014 conference is expected to draw more than 500 participants ranging from researchers to policymakers, and businesses to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the public. The 2014 conference agenda will comprise high-level and plenary sessions, workshops and scientific sessions. The workshops, organized by WRF partners, will address topics regarding: global targets for sustainable natural resource use; circular economy; eco-parks; resource wisdom in cities; sustainable recycling industries; diversification of the energy matrix; and decoupling strategies for sustainable development. Scientific sessions are expected to include presentations by over 100 scientists and researchers from all around the world on themes including: innovation for resource efficiency; policies and stakeholder participation; recycling industries and cities; and forestry and climate change. The WRF 2014 will also seek to provide inputs for discussions at the 20th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 20) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
