The theme of 2005 World Day to Combat Desertification is “Women and Desertification.” Celebrations to mark World Day to Combat Desertification will be held in Berlin, Germany. These celebrations will be preceded, on 16 June 2005, by a meeting with European Union Parliamentarians at the German Bundestag to discuss desertification issues.
