Workshop on the Development of Climate Information Systems for Heat Health Early Warning: Assessing Knowledge, Needs and the Path Forward

The Joint Office for Science Support (JOSS) of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) will hold a Workshop on the Development of Climate Information Systems for Heat Health Early Warning: Assessing Knowledge, Needs and the Path Forward. The three-day workshop is organized into several panel and discussion sessions, and will address, among other topics: current weather and climate forecasts and projection capacity for heat events; public health decisions across time scales; state of knowledge of heat exposure parameters and health outcomes across time scales; informing the development of a National Integrated Heat Health Early Warning; stakeholder engagement and communication; and strategic planning for integrated information systems. The workshop is supported by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS).
