The workshop is the final of three to be jointly organized by the Missions of 10 UN member States on the initiative of the President of the 65th Session of the General Assembly, Joseph Deiss (Switzerland). The initiative, known as the Group of Friends on Green Economy, includes the governments of Egypt, Gabon, Grenada, Hungary, Indonesia, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Sweden, and Switzerland. The third workshop will focus on pathways to a Green Economy, including possible avenues and political incentives available to, or already taken by, Governments to transition to a Green Economy.
