This regional workshop, on the theme 'From the Shallows to the Deep: Who is taking the lead? Women, Water and Leadership: A Workshop for Asia and the Pacific', is co-organized by The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and International Water Management Institute (IWMI). It will bring together 50-60 participants from government, civil society, development agencies, and other groups to discuss opportunities to harness the talents and leadership of women at all levels of the water sector. The two objectives of the workshop are to: 1) provide developing countries, development agencies, donors, civil society organizations and women with a regional platform where they may exchange best practices, knowledge and ideas about women and leadership in the water sector, and identify their joint priorities for the Asia and Pacific region, and 2) identify strategies to fully use the potential of women as water leaders and to enhance the participation and visibility of female community leaders, experts and policy makers at all levels.
