Webinar: Report of the High-level Panel on Global Sustainability (GSP) in Light of Rio+20

The World Bank Institute is organizing a webinar and online discussion on the report of the UN Secretary-General's High-level Panel on Global Sustainability (GSP) and recommendations to international financial institutions (IFIs), such as the World Bank. The webinar will address three questions: how can IFIs step up their efforts to promote sustainable development in a comprehensive way, and how should they monitor and report on the impact of their sustainable development policies? how can enabling frameworks be created to incentivize substantial financing and sustainable choices from the private sector, including through the creation of partnerships, risk mitigation, etc? and how can progress and growth be measured more comprehensively, beyond Gross Domestic Product (GDP)? Speakers will include: Rudolf Treffers, Executive Director, World Bank Group; János Pásztor, Executive Secretary, GSP; and Mary Barton-Dock, Director, Environment Department, World Bank.
