The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is convening a two-day Sustainable Land Management (SLM) Business Forum at the 12th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 12) to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). Co-organized with Turkey's Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the Business Forum aims to profile companies' work in SLM and facilitate joint learning as well as new partnerships with civil society organizations and governments. The Forum will conclude with a high level dialogue session where ministers and CEOs will assess the role of the private sector in addressing land degradation and examine what is needed in terms of evidence, policy, legislation and incentives to encourage more businesses to adopt targets on SLM and Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN). The SLM Business Forum will produce a 'Business Ankara Declaration' for adoption by the UNCCD.
