This national symposium, organized by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), will provide an opportunity for discussions among a broad range of stakeholder groups on the distribution of forest products and services, including furniture and other ecosystem services. In doing so, the symposium will consider increasing demands on forests to provide raw materials such as lumber and pulp, while emerging markets such as the REDD+ market, place new value on forests. In this light, the symposium will consider ways to enhance research, information and the management of forest products.
