On the occasion of 2011 Africa Industrialization Day, and in view of the UN Secretary-General’s recently launched global initiative on Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL), the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) will organize an interactive panel discussion on the theme of “Sustainable Energy for Accelerated Industrial Development in Africa.” The objective of the panel is to provide a platform for discussing the three energy objectives for 2030: ensuring universal access to modern energy services; doubling the rate of improvement in energy efficiency; and doubling the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix.
