The UN General Assembly's (UNGA) Second Committee is holding this side event on ‘The role of governments and all stakeholders in mobilizing information and communications technologies (ICTs) for sustainable development'. The event will: reflect on trends and actions to mobilize stakeholders to mobilize ICT for the poor; exchange experiences and lessons on how governments and other actors can mobilize ICT to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); identify priority actions and approaches for implementing the 2030 Agenda and the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) +10; and exchange ideas on how to maximize the impact of public authorities in mobilizing ICT for sustainable development, financing and partnership. The event will feature a panel presentation and an interactive dialogue, and will result in an informal summary by the Secretariat on the main points of discussions and proposals for action-oriented results.
