The President of the UN General Assembly will convene a one-day High-level Thematic Debate on the topic of 'Delivering Climate Action: for People, Planet & Prosperity'. The event is convened in the lead up to the Glasgow Climate Change Conference (COP 26) due to “the urgency of upscaling climate action to achieve the 1.5 degrees target, and in order to ensure that climate change remains the highest priority on the international agenda,” per the President's letter to UN Member States.
