Mexico proposed hosting this country-led initiative during the September 2004 meeting of the Ad Hoc Expert Group on Consideration with a view to Recommending the Parameters of a Mandate for Developing a Legal Framework on all Types of Forests (AHEG-PARAM). The meeting will continue discussing the future of the international arrangement on forests (IAF) in preparation for the fifth session of the UN Forum on Forests in May 2005.
