This meeting is the fourth of seven planned regional consultations to be convened by the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) regarding the development of sustainability principles for the insurance industry. It is envisaged that once finalized, the UNEP FI Principles for Sustainable Insurance will serve as a global framework for insurance companies to better manage environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities in their core business strategies and operations.
